I'm Ria! The founder and creative force behind faeriafawn, a fantasy & nature themed artist. I'm a British artist born in Hampshire, southern England in 2001, and as a neurodivergent introvert, I’ve always found comfort in the countryside nature, folklore, and the quieter corners of life. My work is shaped by my love of nature, woodland creatures, and the magic of fantasy worlds, and FaeriaFawn has become the place where all of those passions come together.
How did faeriafawn come to life?
FaeriaFawn came to life in 2025 as a way for me to bring together the two things that have shaped me most: the presence of nature and the older side of fairytales and folklore. The name itself is woven from pieces of who I am. Faerie for the ancient, uncanny magic found in old stories, Ria for the personal heart behind the work, and Fawn for my favourite animal and the spirit of the woodlands and my fav animal. Together, they form a blend of nature, myth, and the slightly eerie charm of classic fairytales. FaeriaFawn is my way of building my world shaped by forests, creatures, folklore, and that timeless feeling of wandering into a story that’s a little mysterious but deeply comforting. Through prints, stickers, and small goods, I try to capture that mix of wonder, nature, and old‑world magic that has always inspired me!
What inspired me to start creating art?
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember, always drawn to whimsical worlds, mythical beings (I've always had a deep love for dragons), and the magic inside nature. Storybooks, folklore, and old dark fairytales and fantasy worlds — from the Brothers Grimm to Tolkien — have shaped my imagination since childhood, and those influence my artwork today. Nature is one of my greatest inspirations. I’ve always felt deeply connected to the natural world. Animals, especially, have always held a special place in my heart, and guide the mood and meaning of my art pieces. Although I’ve been a hobbyist artist for most of my life, I’ve recently begun putting more of myself into my work. I love creating art that feels magical and whimsical, and full of wonder like fairytale-like worlds inspired by nature and the creatures I cherish.
